Materials Testing exhibition offers global showcase for NDT industry

Materials Testing exhibition offers global showcase for NDT industry

Materials Testing – the world’s most comprehensive exhibition of non-destructive testing (NDT), materials testing, condition monitoring and diagnostic technologies – returns this year with a new range of features and industry speakers.

Materials Testing 2017 will take place from 5-7 September in Telford, UK and will showcase the latest innovations from companies around the world. The show comes at an exciting time for the industry, with the market set for strong global growth and new technologies offering huge potential for improved testing and monitoring.

Materials Testing 2017 promises to be the biggest and best exhibition to date, with over 70 exhibitors and a wide range of seminars covering the practical aspects of NDT and related technologies.

The biennial event is organised by the British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing (BINDT) and will run alongside its annual conference, NDT 2017, providing additional networking opportunities.

Paul Fidgeon, Chairman of the organising committee, said: “The NDT sector is entering an exciting period of expansion. The challenge of testing ageing infrastructure in established markets, growing demand from emerging economies such as China, India and Brazil, the increasing complexity of equipment and greater emphasis on safety standards are all driving growth.

“Meanwhile, new technologies, such as the Internet of Things, offer new possibilities for users. Materials Testing is the most comprehensive event of its type for the NDT industry and allows equipment producers, NDT practitioners and end users alike to keep up to date with developments, hear from leading industry voices and network with professionals from across the globe.”

According to Mordor Intelligence, the market for NDT services is set to grow by over 8% a year, from $6.51 billion in 2016 to reach $9.68 billion by the end of 2021.

The event, which is free to attend for registered visitors, takes place at the International Centre in Telford, West Midlands and is open from 9.30am to 4.30pm on Tuesday 5 and Wednesday 6 September and from 9.30am to 2.00pm on Thursday 7 September. The International Centre in Telford is less than one-and-a-half hours from Birmingham, Manchester and Liverpool international airports and only five minutes away from the UKrail and motorway networks.
